Free Track Day Grows With New Events for the Spring!

With 95 people attending our Open Track Day on March 8th, and stupendous results from our Extended Day of Instruction on April 4th, Free Track Day schedules two more big events this spring.  Demand is growing for our Open Track Day format and we’ve scheduled a full “OPEN” track day for Sunday, June 28th.  We are pre-empting that with another “extended day of instruction” on May 23rd.

For those that are not familiar with what Free Track Days offers, here is a quick synopsis of our wares.  We offer One on One instruction, Pairs Instruction and combination classes where the instructor carries up to five riders.  Those are offered on demand and consist of approximately one hour of classroom study followed by 2-3 hours of dedicated track time, with lots of pit meetings to determine the best way to our clients’ goals.  We offer Extended Days of Instruction, where we split the track day with an automotive driving school – alternating classroom and track use.  These are great because the whole day is full of instruction and the students receive 4-5 hours of track time.  Finally, we offer Open Track Days where the emphasis is on track time… but very little instruction.  We have mentors on hand to help ensure a safe day, but the instruction is nowhere near school levels.

Our Open Track Day format promotes safety in that since there are no sessions…. Riders naturally spread out and create a margin of safety.  If the “top 5” in our area show up, we do honor them about once an hour with a short session of clear track --- but only if the demand exists.  Open Track Days share a community lunch spurring some pit camaraderie and we usually have photogs on hand, followed by the availability of premium action shots for our riders.  Students in our classes are captured on video for critique and a souvenir of their day.  Check out a video of our latest student “Larry”.  Larry is in his 60’s and is throwing around this 650 pound BMW.  He started the day not knowing about proper downshifting, not using his body weight, not familiar with counter steering and had NEVER used his front brake before…. What could you accomplish in one day?? Video is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoU_xLm8zC8

    Up to speed......

I have neglected adding here, so there is a lot to say..... I will make it short.

www.vonconcepts.wwdb.biz continues to grow and we need your help to keep it growing!!! Go there, register as a client - which is free and let us be your consumables source.  Although its an Ecommerce model - we strive to grow through client loyalty and referral.  Questions?  Just ask.

www.freetrackday.org is up and functional.  Lets get these kids and their superbikes out to the track so they can begin to appreciate what they have!  The life expectancy of a new Yamaha R1 is just 600 miles..... surely we can change that with client education.

Family is great - Haydon is growing like a weed.  Rainey is turning into a young lady right before my eyes and Justin is doing well on the east coast.  Racing is off to a good start with a track day under our belt and a fitness level that is getting back on par.

    Viola!!!! Updated.

    God Bless!!

I think the bike is fixed

So I start taking the bike apart, and I assume it will be a while before I ride it again.  Draining the fuel, I find this piss-ant little filter screen shoved up in the line - where it attached to the carbs.  It's like 50/50 clogged.  So it would make sense that after a few fast laps it would be trying to get more fuel at a high rate.  Would also explain cycling kill switch (fuel pump) on and off few times and it runs well again.

It sounds dumb, but that is the part of the line I usually NEVER take apart.  Talk about luck!
Now I'm tempted to drive to on on warmer track for on on winter event to see if I got it handled.  Kinda miffed if a .15 filter kept me from winning my first weekend back.

    Finally Hit the Track!!!

Finally got a bike out to the track!!!! I was worried that with years away from riding at speed - I would have lost it.  Lynn from tech assured me "It's like riding a bike"

After working Pit - out for the morning, the fist day jitters went away and I just wanted to ride.  My new GSXR750 (used) had me wondering what it would feel like.  I was very pleased.  After a few orientation laps, I came in to check for fluid leaks real quick and make sure the tires were warming up.

Game on.  5 laps later I was pulling in with leg cramps... but I didn't fall down and I didn't knock anyone off --- Good Day.  I was critical of my riding until I inpected the bike.  I had balled the tires right to the edge.... Rock on!

    Race Bike Re_born

Today I rode the old GSXR for the first time.  I must say that I am more pleased than ever.  I took the bike down to the basics and made sure things -like the loose primary sprocket were addressed.  I cleaned everyting from stem to stern and re-assembled the bike.

With a fresh carb clean, it purred like a kitten.  The throttle is snappy and revs straight through the guage.  As I test drove the bike for the first time, I couldn't help but show off for the kids down the street ---- Hoist it UP!!!!  Man, kids love wheelies :)

To my surprise, Heidi asked me if I would take Rainey for a ride.  I seized the opportunity before the chance would be revoked.  She loved it.

    Back on Track

So I've had the bug now for a few months to go BACK to the track.  I miss the speed.  I miss the tranquility of strafing the pavement at 150MPH plus with my knee outstretched toward the pavement, cresting a sweeper.  I miss the opportunity to encourage younger men in the sport, imparting my sense of respect for speed vs. motorcycle.  Thanks to Pastor Todd, it is now becoming reality.

To most, tranquility at a 150 MPH is an oxy-moron.  But to a racer, it is so much truth.  I seem to be wired different.  Honestly the most calm and serene I have ever been is at Daytona International Speedway - pounding my 750 Superbike around the banking.  Looking back on the years of track riding, I'd have to say that the most peaceful moments inside my soul were aboard a road race machine.  There's a certain ballet to the sport that screams "beauty".  If I take a day off and the family is out of town... just sitting and relaxing to watch movies or sports and sip on some beer, gives me the sharpest anxiety.  I need to move.  Excitement equals peace.

Over the last few months, I have also seen a gaggle of young men falling for the hype.  These boys are making money, and establishing credit, and realizing that they can own super fast sportbikes.  Time and time again I hear one of my younger co-workers talking about a new bike that may be someone's first bike.  Do they start slow and work their way up?  No.  One cat ran out and got a Suzuki GSXR1000.  Another bought a ZX6RR from Kawasaki.  Both crashed within the month.  These kids, absent of a firm father figure and influenced poorly by the peer pressure of today's society need training.

I can remember when I was young and tried to race the 600cc class, crashing at nearly every event.  Finally an older gentleman kindly influenced me to race a Yamaha RZ 350 two-stroke.  Finally, I could ride a race weekend and keep the shiny side up.  A couple years of working on the craft and I was a middle weight contender able to control a sportbike of nearly any size at speed.  I've heard it credited to Kenny Roberts:” You first have to go slow in order to go fast".

Fast forward to this last weekend in church.  Pastor Todd of Sagebrush Community Church (I recommend it strongly) was talking to the hundreds upon hundreds in attendance.  Suddenly he addressed the ladies and stated that he is always shocked that women complain about a man pursuing a passion.  Hunters and Fisherman for example may leave for a weekend, spend time with nature, "kill Bambi's mommy - well someone’s got to do it", spend time with God, and return home refreshed.  Now why would a woman want to restrict the man she loves in that way?  The following day, Heidi - my lovely bride, turns to me in the car and thanks me for being the man of the house I am.  Honestly it gets me misty to know how much she loves me.  Then she initiates the conversation, telling me that racing is my hunting and she wants me to re-ignite my passion.

Long story short -- I am buying a used race bike from an MRA (Motorcycle Roadrace Association) member and hitting the track.  I have already had offers to instruct again, and have made inroads with the local sanctioning body to get re-licensed.  The weapon of choice is a 1997 Suzuki GSXR750.  I am old now, so I might as well buy an old bike!  Actually, I wanted to get a competitive bike for Modern Vintage.  Wish me luck and stay tuned.

    My first printed book!!!

Over the years, my extensive experience in the automotive service industry has lead me to many conclusions. Besides being an incredibly difficult position with long hours and multiple personalities... it is also ripe with incompetence. Some of it exemplifies the stereotypes that the general public holds of us, while most of it comes from a lack of training. Vonconcepts is here to help change that.

By releasing this book, conveniently over the internet, we are attempting to deliver the tools you need directly into your hands. Face facts. Nobody wakes up and says "today I am going to be the worst advisor I can possibly be". Of course not! No, you strive to be the best -- it's just hard with all the distractions and lack of training to handle the flow that comes your way. Let us help you. Download your free chapter today.

Previously, I have had the pleasure of training new service advisors on a one to one basis. It's rewarding to take a green pea in the business and turn them into a money machine. I have always been shocked at how the industry as a whole seems to be trying to find a new angle to increase profits - when all they have to do is serve the client. Time and time again it becomes a warranty manipulation game, or selling work that isn't needed to folks that can't afford it. By just serving your clients, you will gain repeated, loyal, and consistant income... through referals.

Lately, everything is extreme... X-Games, XS Energy Drinks, Extreme Motocross. Part of that is really cool. I personally love Motorcycle Roadracing and Motocross, but what about the basics of customer service? Now take those basics and make them extreme. You hold the power to bring yourself and your whole dealership up a couple notches. This book is here now, for that purpose.

    Happy new Year!!!!

    Happy New Year Everyone!
We wanted to drop our friends and family a line to say hello and give you updates on all our stuff.  Most of you already know we moved from Denver to Albuquerque, and while some junk will undoubtedly follow us... the move has been great.  Kurt has been able to secure reliable - gainful employment back in the automotive industry.  This has been a Godsend as Kurt has been able to resume the Biblical position of his home -- a far cry from the Denver market where an interview seemed like a breakthrough.  In Albuquerque Kurt has fielded many offers and has settled upon Don Chalmers Ford.  Beyond a paycheck, Chalmers Ford is active in non-profit efforts locally and with the United Way.  Chalmers has the highest per capita donation factor of any auto dealer in the nation, and out performs many mainstream corporations in individual United Way Donations.  They also provide free health care to everyone in the employees home through an on-site nurse practitioner.  If you have to settle for working for the "man" - then Chalmers is the man to work for.

What about Heidi?  Well, she had a great run at Costco.  We always talked about her being a stay at home mom when things got better... well things got better.  The stability at Chalmers for Kurt and the difficulty in scheduling daycare vs. the dealer vs. Costco was getting a bit stressful... so home she came!  It has been such a blessing to our home.  Heidi is more upbeat, Kurt is less stressed, and Rainey Joy is blossoming into a beautiful, well spoken, behaved young lady.  Rainey still gets to see her daycare friends one day a week to allow Heidi a day of whatever, and keep Rainey socialized with her friends.  It's so cute to hear her pray at night "God bless Noah.  God bless Mya.  God bless Justin.  God bless Mya.  God bless Christin. God bless Mya.  God bless Mommy.  God bless Mya."  If God is really answering prayers... this Mya girl has it going on.
Rainey has had some milestones this year.  She went to a friends' first birthday party and learned about "Birthday Cake!", she went to the Zoo, to the Wild West Nature Center - where she got to pet antelope and deer and chat to a black bear, her 2nd birthday was awesome!, and we had a day at Cliff's amusement park.  One of the events that kind of backfired was her first chance to sit on Santa's lap.  Everything was cool and then BAMM - the Rainey panic bomb went off.  She didn't like him up close at all, but loved him from about 20 yards.

We've had a few visits back to Denver and Heidi got in a visit to Tucson to see her mom.  While Albuquerque doesn't quite scream home yet, its not like Denver is calling us back.  We are very blessed here to have a nice home to live in, a great new/used Expedition to drive, and time to love each other with a love that abounds each and every day.  Our new church "Hoffmantown West" is a fabulous church on the west side of Albuquerque.  They are currently building a new facility to accommodate their growth, but even in the middle school where they meet - the message feeds both Kurt and Heidi while providing snacks and crafts for Rainey Joy.
Kurt has given up the notion that he has any self control on a motorcycle - so has given up the streetbikes all together and taken up motocross.  It's much more affordable, physical, and just plain fun.  Heidi as of late seems to be focused on Christmas Decorations :)  Truthfully, Heidi has been getting involved in the Mom thing by working with Rainey and joining the "Mom's Club".  She has also been working with the Affiliate Marketing business - running her own booth, and helping Diane, her sister, with some database telecommunications work.

We look so forward to our growth in 2007 and wish all of you the very best this coming year.  It was hard for us to make so many changes this last year - but are glad we did.  Hopefully this letter finds you in the path of good decisions with a little faith and luck to push you through.  We love you all.  Happy New Year!!!!

    What's This About a Book?

    Hello readers;

I wanted to drop you all a line to let you know that I have been very busy putting together a book.  With having been printed in such great magazines as Cycle News, RoadracerX Illustrated, Motorcycle World Magazine and the like… I decided to throw my hat in the ring as a real writer.

Yes I still love motorcycling, but this adventure focuses on business.  This work is based on the Automotive Service Industry which I believe is in need of a boost.  Stay tuned for the release particulars on this work and trust that I truly appreciate your support.

    Rainey's Birthday Party!!! (2Years Old)

If you go to the slideshows you'll see the great last couple of weeks we've had.  Rainey is really coming into her own as she develops.  Last week we took her to the Zoo, out for her first haircut, and finally home for her 2nd Birthday party.

The Zoo in Albuquerque is awesome.  It's clean and the displays are great.  I also liked the idea that we could see everything in a couple of hours.  Having grown up in Philadelphia and frequenting that zoo -- sometimes the thought of trying to see the whole thing can be rather daunting.  Rainey liked most things but seemed fascinated with the Monkeys that hang, and the Camel that you can ride.  We had to drag her away from the camels.

Picture-wise I had to include the Lion.  The poor guy reminded me of myself when I have a migrain.  He just smooshed his head into the tree and tried to block everyone out.  Poor guy.

The haircut was cool too.  Diane was the hair dresser and did a great job of keeping Rainey calm.  The kid before her was freaking out so I thought for sure Rainey would come unglued too... but she held it together.  She never lets us put in pony tails or pig tails so we just got her a cute little bob cut.  She looks so much better with her hair under control.

The Party?  It rocked.  We expected 14-15 people and had over 30!  Rainey was the belle of the ball, and a fabulous hostess.  She shared toys and played in the playground I made her out back.  Heidi got her a tent/teepee/tunnell thing and that was a hit too.  I made the patented grilled peppers and garlic with cheese, along with the handmade everything burgers.  XS Energy drinks were on hand to keep the party goes popping and the party was a hit.

Most of all... we get the satisfaction of knowing that we are doing our very best to keep our daughter happy, healthy and well developed.

Rainey's First Birthday Party (for someone else)

Rainey Joy will be two years old in just 4 little weeks.  Saturday, she got to see a little girls' first birthday.  It was really cool because it was thrown by one of Heidi's co-workers at Costco.  I didn't know anybody but wasted no time getting to know the crowd.  They were awesome!

I have a soft spot for home-schoolers and our table was full of them.  They were outgoing and fun.  After a while the host of the party - Josh - sat by me and I introduced myself.  Soon I was wrapped up in a horseshoes game.  Horseshoes?  I hadn't play that in almost 18 years!  Well, I left the reigning champion.

On the way home, Rainey is in the back of the car singing happy birthday.  Wired on two pieces of birthday cake, she sang for a long time.  We even spent some time playing in the back yard at 10:00 PM ---- way past Rainey's bedtime.  It was so cool to see her interact with the other kids and truly enjoy someone else's day.

I hadn't given it much thought in the past... but I guess we need to start planning a birthday party for our little girl?

Something to be Proud Of... (non-profit success)

I got the call yesterday from Mike Thompson.  He is the head cheese at the Father Show and Father Show Resource Program.  He is also a very close friend.  Together we helped launch the charity and develop a "male Oprah" show that is geared to educate men without them really knowing it - through a blend of sports, entertainment and education.

Well it SOLD!!!  I got the call and "Colours" is going to begin filming 26 Public Service Announcements concerning our issues with single and dads and conventional fathers... then they'll launch the show.  We are very excited.

    Business Additions are Insane!!!

I got the news last week about the changes our contracting company was making, in order to make our business more "growth" friendly.  Well today through our website... everything came true.  Now our website not only serves as a glorified business card, but a thriving E-Commerce - and databse tracker combined with excellent training.  They've made it incredibly easy to not only show people how smart E-Commerce can be, but to train them up to be savvy business owners.  This ain't no "Rinky-Dink-Multi-Level-Marketing-Pyramid-Thing".  This is a legitimate powerhouse on the net, and best of all... we get to share it with others!

http://www.vonconcepts.wwdb.biz is the website.  To take a quick tour of our capabilities ---- type in "guest" as the Login and "dream" as the Password.

Once you visit a few Partner Stores (over 600!) and see some of our proprietary product... get in touch.  I will direct you over the net and phone to some of our finer points... like HOW we do business, WHY we do this business, and on everyone's mind... the MONEY.

So powerful is our new setup (released today) that we can even train you through a portion of the site designed for new business builders.  Now you can grow the business when YOU are ready and any time of day --- THE NET NEVER SLEEPS!!!!!

Talking about Connection between B vitamins and depression

    Quote

Connection between B vitamins and depression

(NC)-According to a recent study funded by the Agricultural Research Service, there is a strong connection between the various stages of depression and low blood levels of the B vitamin folate. Scientists found that of the 3,000 people studied, those with either major or low-level forms of depression had lower concentrations of folate in their bloodstreams than those who had never been depressed.
XS Caffeine Free Energy Drink has no sugar and no unhealthy substitutes, yet contains:

    • View Product Detail100 % B3
    • 100% B5
    • 300% B6
    • 4900% B12
    • 100% Folic Acid
    • 200% Vitamin C

Research also shows that folic acid is better absorbed by the body than its natural counterpart, folate. In addition to depression, low-levels of folate are associated with higher incidences of birth defects, heart disease and certain forms of cancer. XS offers a delicous sugar free way of supplementing nutritional needs, with a choice of no caffeine, and costs less than the typical coffee-shop drink.

Low energy and depression need not be a way of life. Vitamin B supplementation, vitamin D, paired with nutrition and herbal support like Nutrilite St. John's Wort, people can live energetically  without always turning to pharmaceuticals! Learn more at Nutrilite.com

Our Business is GROWING - See what we do...

What if you could become a retail powerhouse like Walmart, Costco or Sams Club without suffering the heavy capitalization of startup? Well, Vonconcepts did the research and found the best deal going right now in Affiliate Marketing. You may think you know everything about affiliate marketing - like running a banner ad on you home page and getting paid a few pennies when someone buys a book from Amazon.com… or you may think you know all about it from an uncle with a truck load of soap in his garage. If these are the basis for you opinions of Affiliate Marketing — then we need to chat!

First off, when you run a banner ad linking to another site. You don’t get paid for the referral until the purchase is made. If YOUR customer bookmarks the bannered link and makes the purchase later — then you lose. What if you could assign your referral a tracking number that not only ensured a commision on the first sale, but every sale after that? All this web talk got you down because you don’t have a website, the time to build one from scratch, or the interest to follow up on it… don’t fret. This marketing program is built to meet you where you are. You can run this as a catalog business, use the supplier’s website, or sign up to use a ready-built site that you can customize instantly to your own company.

It’s also built to suit your business desires coming in. If you just want a direct link to discounts and rebates — you can be a Prosumer (Someone who benefits from shopping at their own company). But if you can spread your newfound shopping trend with say 6 - 10 people… then you are well on your way to a very profitable venture.

Call Us Toll Free at 1-866-795-5868

While it is great to center on your passion - in our case bikes - you still have to be profitable. Well not only has our research proven fruitful for ourselves… but our affiliate marketing program will be profitable for you too! Let the Vonconcepts Group show you how.

Not only can we offer you outstanding values on millions of products, but we can show you a “high tech, low tech and no tech” way to market these products yourself — whether you have a website or not. We can even show you how to generate your own website - Instantly, and Effectively. We still carry select motorcycle oriented products, but have now added the ability to traffic product from all sectors of the market. It’s like we became Walmart or Costco online. Check us out.

    Getting Grounded in Albuquerque

As most of you know, we’ve relocated to Albuquerque.  The move itself wasn’t all that hard but the petty stuff has grown a bunch.  Rainey Joy has been through 2 ear infections and a coughing/weezing gig.  It took months to settle into a property - then took just as long to get the peripheral stuff handled:Car Insurance, Registration, Driver Licenses, and yes… high speed internet.

I suffered through a jaunt of Dial Up for about a month.  But even “high-speed-dial-up” can’t handle anything.  I was bouncing from coffee shop to coffee shop just taking care of the immediate needs.

The GREAT News?… our business is growing.  Our suppliers and business support groups have made it even easier to conduct business and show how attractive our oportunity can be.

All together - its been a thrill.  We will do a much better job of updating here as our infrastructure has improved greatly just this week.  For personal notes, especially as related to our business…. you can reach me at DreamBuilderIBO@msn.com
